This delicious recipe came about as a gift to my household, for a special occasion. I promised a “Steak House Meal”. It went over well, so I thought I would share.
Filet Mignon- Spice up your filets with your favorite seasonings; Add spices; salt, pepper, steak seasoning, cayenne and some Italian seasoning (or whatever spices you prefer). Heat your pan and cook filets (2 minutes on each side for rare, 3 minutes on each side for medium rare or 4 minutes on each side for medium), then cover and let rest for 5 minutes and serve. So delicious!
Chicken- For those who do not eat steak or just feel like chicken, this is a great, simple recipe! You will need some flour in a small mixing bowl (I use gluten free). Add spices; salt, pepper, steak seasoning, cayenne and some Italian seasoning (or any other spices you prefer). You will need some chicken tenders (2-3 per person). Mix flour and spices together, then coat chicken pieces with flour. Toss them in the pan and cook with some extra virgin olive oil for about 3 minutos on each side.
Roasted Asparagus – Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Coat asparagus with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, sprinkle salt and pepper and pop in the oven for about 10 minutes. Pull out of oven, sprinkle shredded parmisiano reggiano cheese on top and put back in the oven for 5 more minutes.
Sautéd Mushrooms and Onions- A basket of mushrooms (quartered) and 1 whole onion (sliced). Put mushrooms and onions in a big pan with ¼ C a few pads of butter. You can add some water or chicken broth help break down vegetables. Start adding spices, Italian seasoning, salt pepper, steak seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Let veggies get soft and start to caramelize a bit, then add ¼ to ½ C of your favorite white wine. Keep cooking until veggies are soft, caramelized, and flavorful and reduced into a delicious sauce.
Wedge Salad with Bacon, Tomato, Blue Cheese Crumbles and Blue Cheese Dressing- A balsamic vinaigrette or a good Italian are great alternatives, if double blue cheese is too much for your taste buds. Take outer lettuce off of the ice berg lettuce head. Cut lettuce into 4-6 wedges. Cook 1 piece of bacon per person, crispy and break into small pieces. Plate wedge, top with bacon pieces, blue cheese crumbles, diced fresh tomato and your dressing.
Twice Baked Potato Casserole- Bake potatoes at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Check to make sure potatoes are done. Cut potatoes into pieces, add 4 sliced green onions, 3-4 slices bacon, 1 ½ C sour cream and at least 1 C of shredded cheddar. Put all of these ingredients into a casserole dish mixed together. Add ½ to 1 C more cheddar on top. Bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese is all melty. Amazing!
This combo is one of my all time favorites!
