This is my favorite salsa recipe!
The flavors balance really well! It always goes quickly in my house!
1/2 of a White Onion
1 1/2 Serrano Peppers for Medium Salsa
1 ½ tsp Salt
1/3 C Cilantro
1 can of Fire Roasted Tomatoes (diced)
2-3 Limes (to taste)
Cut tomatoes and onions into large chunks (4-6 slices), slice up Serrano peppers and rinse cilantro. Throw these ingredients into the blender, along with the salt (start with 1 tsp. Cut limes into about 6 slices and squeeze juice into blender. Open the can of Fire Roasted tomatoes and put into blender, along with the rest of the ingredients. Pulse the salsa, until everything is mixed thoroughly and all flavors are melded. Taste test the salsa, to see if anything else is needed. This is my favorite part! Sometimes you may need a little more salt, lime, cilantro or even onion. Sometimes, it is just right the way it is. Perfect your salsa’s flavor by taste and you’re good to go!
Also note that instead of putting raw Serrano, you can add roasted Serrano, Jalapeño, Pasilla or any other spicy chile pepper you love to use. This gives the flavor a delicious twist!
